An April 2025 study on switching from liquid bleach to chlorine tablets found a 94.48% reduction in carbon footprint comparing a bottle of 48 tablets to 6 litres of 3% liquid bleach, and a 97.16% reduction comparing 300 tablets to 37.5 litres. Tablets also cut shipping weight, shelf space, and plastic per use.
